Conclusion of the weekend recap is about Sunday and includes an even more updated goals list.

PART TWO: Sunday AKA Did that really happen?

I can’t say that I’m the biggest sports fan in the world, especially being from Washington where it’s difficult to be a “standout” fan. I’m not rowdy, I don’t scream and yell, I don’t cheer, and I honestly get nervous to the point of no longer being able to watch when football is on. But even so, I do have a certain kind of love for my Seattle sports teams. The love I have for my Seattle Seahawks has only increased in recent years, just as their performance has improved. It’s as if all the years of hoping they could be a great team are finally paying off. Sunday’s NFC Championship game had me in nervous, hopeful, shaky, “I-can’t-possibly-survive-actually-watching-this-game” mode.

In the beginning, things were not looking good and I was wondering where the team I had grown to love and admire had gone and who were these imposters on the field. The game was a mess through the first half. Then a trick play recharged the energy of the game and there was hope and utter amazement that they had pulled off such a thing. But soon that hope began to wane and I was once again left nervous and shaky. In the end, I had to hold tight to my cat as my home team pulled off what many are considering a miracle and punched their ticket to the Super Bowl for the second straight year.

It was a surreal ending, so surreal in fact that as I write this I still can’t believe it actually happened. I couldn’t be more excited to see them back in the big game and if that ending taught me anything it was to never stop believing and that the game truly isn’t over until it is over.

Here are a couple of recent pieces that express my love of the Seattle Seahawks:
